- Sunburst uses only FAS grade basswood. FAS is the highest grade of
lumber. It must be 83% clear of imperfections on its poorest side. Many shutters
are made from No. 1 Common lumber, which only requires 67% clear.
- Water sealer applied to the shutter before finishing, to help slow the
effects of moisture.

- Epoxy-coated staples help prevent pull-out.
